Soda Alternatives

Most Americans actually consume a lot of sugar, the U.S. Department of Agriculture says that most Americans consume 156 pounds in just one year. Most of this is from consuming a lot of soda which contains around 40 grams of sugar in just one serving. You definitely don’t want to be drinking so much of the sugar that you take in because it’s going to cause a lot of problems for you. You’ll find that you have a higher risk of diabetes and even things like heart disease.

When you drink tea you probably only use a little bit of sugar but when you drink soda you don’t even realize how much sugar it really has. But the truth is that you don’t even really need the sugar at all. Most Americans seem to be addicted to the sugar that’s in things like soda and even food. That’s why so many people continue to drink it even if they know that it’s bad for them.

The best thing you can do for your health is get rid of soda from your diet. The problem is that most people drink soda because they like the taste of it as well. So how can you get the great tastes that you really like without drinking so much soda? There are actually a lot of alternatives to consider.

Tea

Tea has some great benefits because it has antioxidants and can improve your immune system. You still don’t want to drink too much tea that is processed or mass produced because it’s going to still be bad for you and contain a large amount of sugar. Instead, work on making your own tea with bags and try to avoid adding so much sugar to the tea as well. This will cause you problems as much as drinking soda.

Coffee

Coffee can actually be extremely unhealthy as well. You want to make sure that you are avoiding so much sugar, creamer and other additives because they will make your coffee less healthy. But if you pick a good type of coffee you can get better flavor so you don’t even need to add anything to get the flavor and taste that you’re looking for.

Milk

Possibly the best thing that you can drink, milk gives you a lot of benefits. It will give you calcium, bone strength, and vitamin D. You also won’t need to worry about the additional calories or sugar. You’ll be a lot healthier and you’ll be able to get some additional benefits from your exercise at the same time.

Get Rid of Fruit Juice

Make sure that you’re not drinking a lot of fruit juice because it’s going to give you a lot of sugar and a lot of negative additives. The taste may be good in fruit juice but that’s the only benefit you’ll get. You’ll have plenty of negatives however, which include high blood sugar, an increase in the type of diseases you get as well, including heart disease or stroke.
