The therapist directs a client’s memories or thoughts by asking a client leading questions which can hinder a client from remembering what he or she truly did or felt during a particular event.

Therefore, the type of therapist you choose is critical in a hypnosis session. It’s essential that the therapist you choose has great expertise in the field of hypnosis and understands how to pull a client into a trance without forcing memories or thoughts onto a client. If a client were to receive false memories or thoughts, it could send both the therapist and the client down a rabbit hole trying to manage an issue the client never had to begin with.

Hypnosis is one technique used in therapy that most people believe they know a lot about but actually know very little. Hypnosis has been proved to treat stress, anxiety, sleep disorders, and grief.
