Easiest Ways to Lose Weight by Tricking Yourself Into Feeling Full

by Robert Carver

Losing weight isn’t easy, and our ability to do so can vary greatly from person to person. Some people have it easy where they can eat anything they want and not gain a pound, where other people have a metabolism that works at a snail’s pace.

There are many different things we can do to help ourselves reduce weight gain, so there are many different things you can try if one or a few methods don’t work for you. Here are some things you can do to help make losing weight easier.

Take a Look at These Simple Ways to Lose Weight

1-Always Have a Healthy Snack on Hand

Keeping a healthy snack on you at all times full of protein and fat can help reduce your hunger cravings and avoid the vending machine as well. Doing so can help you avoid packing on over an entire meal’s worth of calories from eating a candy bar or bag of chips.

2-Drink More Coffee

Coffee is a natural appetite suppressant as well, just avoid adding too much sugar or creamer to your coffee which can turn a healthy beverage into an unhealthy one.

3-Savor Your Food-Eat Slowly

Chewing your food can not only help with better digestion, but can trick your brain in to thinking that it has eaten more as well. Many of the foods we love to eat which are rich in fats, sugars, and salts are ones we tend to devour as well.

Savor your food by eating it slowly which gives you more time to enjoy the food and you will end up eating less as a result also.

4-Keep Food Out of Reach

Next time you’re at the office, keep your snacks in the fridge or in your car so that you physically have to get up and get them. Not only are you less likely to get up and eat as often, it will make you aware of just how often you are doing so.

5-Start Small and Come Back for More

Another trick is to keep your portion sizes small. I don’t know if it is an evolutionary thing or a cultural one, but most people in America tend to eat everything that is on their plates. Limit your calories by keeping your portions smaller, which will help you lose weight in the long run.

A simple trick to accomplish this is to just switch your dishware. Using the same size portions on a small plate gives our brain the impression that there is more food there than there actually is. This helps to reduce over eating.

If you are still hungry, you can always come back for seconds.

6-Make Sure You Are Eating a Balanced Breakfast

Breakfast is the meal that is constantly touted as the most important meal of the day but many people skip breakfast altogether, and others eat unhealthy foods like bagels and pancakes.

Breakfast is important because it can either start your day off poorly or great, and that all depends on what you are eating. Stick to high protein foods with fruits and vegetables such as omelets, yogurt smoothies, and oatmeal.

Eating right can help you delay hunger for a longer time, helping you lose more weight.

7-Eat Before You Go Shopping

Most of us have heard of this before, but it still holds true; the research shows that if you eat before you go food shopping you buy less food on average. It not only the amount of food you buy that differs if you eat beforehand but also the quality of food as well.

People who go shopping hungry tend to stock up more on the unhealthy foods like ice cream, cookies, chips, pretzels and other snacks.

Do yourself a favor and eat a nice full meal before you head off to the supermarket to go food shopping for the week.
