Yeah, we know. You’ve got your muscle food diet sorted and you’e had it sorted for a couple of years now. But, like us, you’re bored of it. You know, you’re bored of the same old same old.
Chicken, turkey, fish, eggs, dairies, pasta, steak. Yada-yada.
You want something new, something you’ve never tried before. You want dishes from far away lands, and you want something that tastes as good as a porterhouse steak but contains less calories. But you just don’t know what to check out.
Bok chou is a cousin of broccoli twice removed and it’s just as crunchy. It’s better than the broc, though, because it comes with less calories and carbs – twice as less. It does taste a little bland by itself, which is why we recommend that you douse it in olive olive on a high heat before sprinkling it with garlic.
At which point it’s yum.
Guys, I fucking love shrimp. Always have done, always will do.
But so many people seem to bypass this amazing delicacy.
Here’s the numbers: 3oz of shrimp contains 18g of protein. That equates to 12 large shrimp. And it’s so delicious you’ll want more.
You don’t need to be able to spell it – or say it – but this delightful Asian fruit comes with more vitamin C than the more well-known apple.
Persimmons tend to be deep orange and they look like a fatter pepper. It’s so tasty too, and all you need to do is scoop out the goods, slice and eat. If Homer Simpson wasn’t a sugar addict, he’d be saying “Hmmm persimmon.”
Oysters, for some reason, have a bit of a bad rep. We can’t think why, though, because just 3oz have 11g of protein. They taste good, too.
Mussels and Clams
Take what oysters give you in protein relative to ounces and double it.
Double the taste too.
That’s “keen-wah” to you. Quinoa is South American and is basically turbocharged rice. It’s got more protein than rival grains and will kick their asses. It’s easy to find too, just nip into a health-food store and ask for it.
Make sure you pronounce it right, though. Health food store people can be merciless.
A porterhouse steak is nice, but it’s packed with calories. Goat can taste just as good, and yet it has no where near as many calories.
It has more protein, though.
This is quick and easy food that is here to rival pasta for energy. Water, microwave and couscous and you’re sorted. Simply but effective – just the way we like it.
